Shortly after the original publication of Oliver Edwards' book Flytyer's Masterclass in 1994, Aideen Canning (MA: Royal College of Art) produced a set of four limited edition fine art prints depicting all the flies in the book.  The detail in the prints is incredible; they're really something to behold, far better than any photograph, when framed they look simply stunning. Oliver's own set graces the wall in his fly tying den - where else!

They were very popular when they first came out and it was believed that they had all been sold long ago.  However, it now appears that out of the limited edition print run, a few sets were held back by the artist. These prints are now available exclusively through this website. Each print is individually signed by both Oliver Edwards and the artist, Aideen Canning.

CADDISFLIES            45 x 32 cms
Both adult winged flies and larval patterns are depicted in this print. Several POPA and Voljc-Moser Caddisflies are seen at upper left and right respectively. Lower left, the Oliver Edwards ascending Rhyacophila pupa and, next to that, the two key free-living larval forms, the Rhyacophila and Hydropsyche. Lower right, various Peeping Caddis and Hans van Klinken's famous Leadhead completes this caddis collection.

DRIES AND EMERGERS      45 x 32 cms
Here are included patterns from two guest tyers. These are the Cut-Wing Dun from the vice of the late Poul Jorgensen, and the devastatingly effective Klinkhåmer Special, Hans van Klinken's world famous pattern. Also depicted is the Emerging Dun covering three important hatches, the Large Dark Olive, BWO, and Pale Watery. The Spent Needle and Spent Willow fly are shown on the top row. Lower left is a small collection of some of Oliver Edwards' floating beetle patterns. Top right, the two large drowning Bibios - Hawthorn and Heather fly. The unmissable Mohican Mayfly which copies our largest upwing, the Mayfly or Greendrake, completes this collection of floating patterns.

STONEFLY NYMPHS            45 x 32 cms
Various views of the large Perla and Dinocras stonefly nymphs, some with soft-legs, and others with the classic cranked hard legs, as more usually seen in framed collections. The soft legged ones are those you'd go fishing with. Top right is the smaller Isoperla nymph, the well known Yellow Sally, in both dorsal and ventral views.

SUBSURFACE PATTERNS 45 x 32 cms
Here are some of Oliver Edwards' best fish catchers. Top left are various Baetis nymphs, important and very effective patterns. Top and centre, two colour ways of the distinctly waisted Ephemerella (BWO) nymph. Top right, a range of views of the Heptagenid nymph, another very important insect family for the freestone river fly fisherman. Bottom left is the Jointed Ephemera nymph, the Oliver Edwards 'wiggle' version of the famous Mayfly or Greendrake nymph. Lower centre, the important - for many - The Yellow May Emerger, a pattern Oliver has landed many fish with. Last but not least, lower right, the Oliver Edwards Gammarus shrimp, in both the usual grey/olive colour and in the orange breeding colour.
